100,000 square feet of concrete polishing in Ely, Cambridgeshire

Following the full supply and installation of 10,000m² of production and manufacturing facility concrete flooring (see here) 6-weeks ago, Level Best have remobilised to site to carry out the high-specification concrete floor clean, polish and seal system on behalf of this client in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Level Best started with the concrete floor enhancing system on the first floor with 5000m² of polishing completed withinin 1-week. The Renovation Team then moved downstairs to carry out the exact same system on 5000m² of ground floor slab which was also completed in 1-week. The 6-stage clean, seal and polish system involves the application of two powerful components, a densifier and a sealer, which are both worked into the pours of the concrete utilising ride-on and hand-held power trowels. The densifier increases the structural and abrasion capacity of the floor whilst the sealer seals the floor leaving a dust-proof easy-clean surface. These products are applied in conjunction with a deep thorough clean and final buff. This high-specification project also required Level Best to install ‘decorative’ saw cuts to meet the client’s expectation. These saw cuts are completely new to the UK market and required Level Best to install 3mm cuts into the slab purely for aesthetical reasons only. This difficult requirement demonstrates the ability of Level Best’s specialist in-house saw cutting team who had to install these aesthetical cuts into the slab without inducing cracks.
