Measuring the specular reflection (gloss) of your concrete floor surface

At Level Best Concrete Flooring we can measure in Gloss Units the reflection of light your existing concrete floor is currently producing . We can then carry out further testing to prove the enhancement to the glossiness readings following our Floor Renovation System processes. This is particularly useful when planning new lighting systems within your new warehouse building as the light reflectivity from your floor can be used within your calculations, this reducing costs on expensive lighting, as well as creating other benefits to the actual concrete floor itself.

A gloss meter is an instrument which is used to measure the specular reflection (gloss)of a surface. Gloss is determined by projecting a beam of light at a fixed intensity and angle onto a surface and measuring the amount of reflected light at an equal but opposite angle.

The photographs show one of our concrete floor surveyors using the gloss meter on a floor we are about to start renovating in the next few weeks. Once the accurate measurements have been taken, the tests will be respected in the same locations to provide the new results on completion of the floor renovation system itself.

For more details on how we can provide you with such beneficial and technical information of the reflectivity values of your concrete warehouse floors, please contact us on 01405 819199 or  email enquiries@levelbestconcreteflooring.co.uk
