This large warehouse in Doncaster, South Yorkshire has gone through the full dilapidation process with the landlords surveyor and the new tenants surveyor and a full scope of works and specification has been agreed in conjunction with Level Best Concrete Flooring surveying team. The floor refurbishment works will commence on site in February 2022 and shoudll take the floor refurbishment contractor approximately 8 weeks to carry out. The scope of works to be carried out by Level Best involves the reduction in slab level, by means of planing down the concrete and reducing the depth at at the surface by circa 60mm. The existing surface is damaged in a number of place and hence the required reduction in Level by concrete planing which will deliberately miss out the removal of the existing structural reinforcement and hence not effect the integrity of the overall floor structure. The floor will then receive a concrete topping which will incorporate a dry shake topping and surface hardener and will be subsequently polished prior to handover.
4,620 linear metres of floor joints will be re aligned and sealed to improve aesthetics and long term performance of the warehouse floor slabs. Two of the main construction floor joints will also be replaced with new steel armoured joints, suitable for heavy fork lift trafficking in this high bay warehouse in Doncaster. As well as many other different types of concrete floor repairs and remedial works on this refurbishment project, the entire warehouse floor area will be sealed and polished to provide the occupier with an easy to clean, shiny, dustproof and light reflecting concrete floor.
